Leopardkit lay on her back and looked up at the sky. Well she looked up at clouds that were drifting across the pale leaf bare sky. She sighed and watched them. There was a cloud that looked like a badger, and a cloud that looked like a flower. However clouds can only hold a kit's attention for so long. And there wasn't much longer that they could hold the young spotted kit's attention. She sighed a little and licked her paw, then dragged it over her ear blinking and sighing again.
She looked up, the clouds seemed to be gathering and getting greyer. She heard other cats talking about a storm on the way or something like that. She huffed a little and rolled over then pushed herself up. She was six moons now, any day she would be made a warrior apprentice. But the thought of battle, of some cat coming up in her blind spots, terrified her. She didn't want to be a warrior, oh no no no.

Her gaze glued to her herbs, she carefully placed her last marigold leaf on top of her pile, when she sneezed slightly. My my, I'm never this clumsy! she thought quickly, slowly picking up each of the leaves. I need an apprentice... she solumnly nodded to herself, turning over her shoulder.
"Leopardkit is six moons old now. Wonder if she'll be interested," she murmured, exiting her den and trotting toward the Nursery. She couldn't see Leopardkit at first, but she did see Littlewhisker. "Morning Littlewhisker," she purred to the queen, ready to go back and find the six-moon old kit.
"Morning Icewhisker," the young queen purred in reply, turning toward the place where Leopardkit laid. "Leopardkit certainly seems depressed. How come, I wonder?" she muttered, tucking back into her curled shape.
"Thank you Littlewhisker," she mewed, taking a few pawsteps toward the kit. "Hey, Leopardkit, how are you?" she mewed, flicking her tail.

Leopardkit rolled over and looked up at Icewhisker. "I'm okay, I guess." she said, sounding rather glum. She looked up at the sky and flicked her tail. "I think there's a storm coming, I mean the sky's getting all dark and stuff." she mewed. "S-so why do you wanna talk to me?" She asked. She was a little more relaxed around Icewhisker since they were kinda friends. She paused. "Do you think I'll make a good warrior." She paused again and flicked her tail carefully. "I don't think so, I can't see things coming at me from the sides." She said. "But I bet you already knew that... you know everything." her eyes glowed with admiration for the older she-cat.

She older she-cat listened, intently, to the older she-kit. Once, and only once, she was through and staring at her admiringly, Icewhisker knew she had to say something. "Don't be too hard on yourself. You know, I had a choice too, to either become a Warrior, or to follow the path of herbs. And you know what I chose, since I am here right now. A medicine cat was my true calling, and I knew I could be a warrior if I wanted. I didn't feel it was right, battling over land, prey, ecetera. Even with the witch of my mentor, I was able to pull through with it." She paused, closing her eyes.
She remembered when she first arrived at the Moonpool, when she first became an apprentice. She recited the words over and over again, and now she memorized them by heart. "I am getting older now, getting close to being an elder, you know? I need a successor, an apprentice. I understand your ideal with your sight. Would you be willing to become my apprentice?" she mewed calmly and straight, running her tounge on her paw and rubbing it on her ear.

"M.. me?" She mewed, ears perking up. "oh yes! Thank you!" she squealed. She crouched low and leapt on the older she-cat, licking her ears and purring happily. "I love being in the den with you and working with herbs and... you're so much fun. You're not overportective like my mum. She's always terating me like a baby. I'm not a little mewling kit anymore. I'm six moons!" She said, still sitting on Icewhiker's back. "Can you go talk to Fernstar now?" She asked, suddenly getting exited. "Pleeeeaaase?" she mewed. "Th...then I'll be Leopardpaw!" she giggled giddily.
