i. The Scratch Egg
This egg is a strange thing, seemingly normal and yet obviously not. It sits away from the others, not being pushed away- welcomed actually- but rather because it refuses to be there. It’s like it knows it’s not special and it knows it has nothing about it that is grand. But it is still part of the clutch. This egg is the largest of all, but still convinced it is not special at all. Some might think humble. Some might think grouchy. This egg is coated in a warm, luscious color that reminds people of cream. An extremely pale, smooth yellow that shades it all around. A perfect, even coat. Until three sharp claw marks dig into it. From one side to the other, three rings run over the top. Each is nearly black though a close up says a dark brown instead. This egg seems to have been attacked and left with only its three wounds. But these hardly seem to matter. These claw marks are firm statements of its power. Nobody sees it. They see a large egg that really has no strength. It gives off feelings of grumbling, ashamed and away from the others. No. This egg is not just an egg. It is a mystery, one unwilling to part with what is within. You’ll have to truly know this egg to ever get that close. And it’s not going to let it happen easily.
ii. The Petal Dance Egg
Something about this egg is happy and loving and exactly to its name. A dancing, flowing one. It’s on the smaller side, centered in the clutch as if needing protection. But it doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s coloring is not hard to miss. It’s a pretty jungle green color, one that is like the grasses on a cloudy day. Not much shine to it but certainly lots of familiarity. This sea of green is then speckled with tiny spots, each strangely shaped and similar to what one would assume was petals. These are bright and vibrant pink, standing out greatly from the far more dull green base. But that is the only thing that can draw the eye. It’s a rounder egg, happily plump and full. As mentioned, it is centered and it seems to hug the Shadow Claw Egg lovingly. Nobody leaves this clutch without sensing its peaceful yet giddy nature. It’s like it only wishes to dance in the moonlight, let the petals sprinkle down and litter its path as it swings the night away. It’s carefree and very much easy to love. Though small, this one has a lot to adore about it.
iii. The Future Sight Egg
[/blockquote]The Future Sight egg can be seen as the dwarf. It’s terribly small, even smaller than the Petal Dance Egg. This one seems to be a dud at glance. Whatever is within surely can’t be alive. And many fear it will die before it can ever hatch. For good reason too. This egg is probably three times smaller than the Scratch Egg and easily one of the smallest eggs ever seen. For a dragon. Round and pearl-like, this one rivals the Blizzard Egg in beauty. With rippling shades of purple, pink, and the strangest one, a bright blue, it is a fascinating piece. They say if you stare at it long enough, you’ll grow dizzy and maybe hallucinate from its mind-bending decoration. It sits below the Petal Dance Egg, not protected though never, ever forgotten. This tiny thing is the love and joy of its mother, and the worry too. With its weak responses, it seems like it’ll fade away at any time. A terrible crime it is, death. Have hope though. Perhaps it won’t die. When one comes near, the mother lets everybody touch it as if eager to see if one person can make the hatchling stronger. When you do touch it, you can feel the being within give a tiny response, like a weak kitten’s mew. With a smiling personality, it is loving, bubbly, and yet afraid to let go. It’s strong at heart but is its heart truly strong enough to hold onto life until hatching? You love this egg. Only those that are as dark as the Shadow Claw Egg could ever hate something so sweet and gentle.
iv. The Overheat Egg
A giant flame, always burning, never allowed to die. This egg can be seen and never forgotten because of this. It tries to avoid the Spark Egg for some reason, especially with being placed on the completely opposite side of the clutch from it. Though smaller than the Spark Egg, it‘s just as powerful. From base to tip, ranging colors flash over the shell, almost looking like a live flame itself. The colors are passionate and brilliant. It‘s the way of a fire. This egg is long and oval shaped, again, the opposite of the Spark Egg. It favors its larger sibling, the Outrage Egg, by leaning into it. The mother doesn‘t dare move them apart. Nobody is that stupid to do that to these two eggs. The hatching gives off loving emotions for the Outrage Egg and yet anger towards the Spark Egg, obviously. Whatever is within is curious yet it refuses to let you know that. The moment you touch it, it turns its nose up and tries to act aloof. But you know. You know it wants to explore. However, it believes itself as mature so it cannot allow it. Maybe it‘ll try to be less conservative of its emotions one day.
v. The Muddy Water Egg
The Muddy Water Egg at least has differences from its less attractive Rockslide Sibling. This one has color and some sort of personality that doesn’t make you want to lay down. Smaller than the Rockslide, it has an appearance of a murky lake floor, the mud sifting through the water and the green weeds swaying with the current. Which is exactly what o ne should think. From top to near bottom is a strange blue that is nasty, gray, and dark. A fading of brown is found throughout though it isn’t enough to point out as a speck or something. It’s well mixed and a disgusting mix too. But it’s not all dirt and water. At the bottom of this egg is a brown patch that is decorated with different shades and black-and-gray pebbles of some sort. Very realistic. And from this rise tall towers of billowing green, the weeds of the lake. Again, disgusting but there. It’s not a pleasant looking egg though decorative isn’t something to cut short on. It contrasts greatly to the leaning Rockslide Egg. However, in personality, it’s similar. Sluggish and slow to respond, this hatchling seems to act like its paws are caught in the mud and it cannot move nor let go of the mud. It isn’t eager to escape either. It seems to accept reality and take it for what it is, often looking at those that stroke its shell as merely those that pass on by, a speck in its life. It doesn’t seem to care that much and it’s there for all to know.
vi. The Spark Egg
This egg reminds you of a lightning storm in its own strange way. Its personality and plain look really gives it a shocking appearance among its siblings. For one, it is medium sized though almost perfectly round. An orb of electricity, in a way. It sits on the left edge, not forgotten but merely pushed away for its annoying tendencies. This fat egg is covered in soft black, a creeping shadow of a color. But even then, this egg cannot be anything short of enthusiastic. Randomly showering its deep gray outside are yellowish sparks and tiny, crack-like lines connecting them. It’s hard to avoid the obviousness that it looks ready to explode from the inner power. Or perhaps just plain excitement. Forget touching it. This hatchling reaches out to you and holds your attention. Like a dancing monkey, it seems to want your total attentiveness as it tries to make you smile. It just wants to please, even if it has to pull you away from everything else to do it.
vii. The Rockslide Egg
The Rockslide Egg is not like the others. There is a difference to it that stands out and it’s the one sign that it is dull as a rock should be. It’s basically as simple as that. A rock among the rest. But don’t be fooled. There is something inside that just needs to be roused from its slumber. On the outside, it is on the larger side though nowhere near the Outrage or Scratch Eggs. Its size doesn’t matter though. This egg is just plain heavy. As if whatever within it is too heavy and large for this egg’s shell. It’s a gray-brown coloring, sort of dusty and worn with age in looks. In fact… that’s about all there is. Unlike the beauty or shocking colors of its siblings, this one is simply put. The dusting of a gray-tan layer, seemingly just dirt kicked up on it, along with minor dark cracks seem to be the only thing you can recognize as coloration. It’s just… dull and uninteresting. From the outside. Within, there is something a little more interesting yet still just as boring. It is a sleep thing within, too tired to move, too exhausted to bother shaking even. But it’s there and it lets you know but making you almost want to yawn to yourself. The hatchling within is like a content, fat cat. It’d rather lie there all day and sleep rather than be roused by you or anybody else but it’s still happy. It sits near the Muddy Water Egg which isn’t a surprise considering the similarities. It’s a good egg. Just a lazy one.
viii. The Shadow Claw Egg
This is, by far, the creepiest of the whole in looks. This average-sized egg is placed in just enough reach of the mother but kept away from its siblings. It‘s just not right. A well-shaped egg, this one is strangely painted in a near-black gray. This dark thing is only interrupted by one creepy design and that is the smile. Like a jack-o-lantern, sharp cut eyes glare out along with a wicked, jagged smile, triangles dipping in and out for teeth. This white decoration can send shivers down your spine instantly. Medium in size, it still overpowers its siblings and greedily takes what it can. Nobody wants to come near it. And why would you? With a lingering feeling of dread, only the darkest souls could dare handle it. An annoying buzz in your ear, you leave knowing it is there. And it‘s watching youl
ix. The Blizzard Egg
There finally comes a time when even the mother cannot stop a bad egg from appearing. This one is clutched between her paws, clearly kept away from everybody. Nobody touches it. Nobody. Not even the rider can attempt a brush of the fingers. This egg is beautiful, in all honesty. Drop-dead beautiful. With its swirling array of a near-white blue and a pale sky blue, a blizzard isn‘t what you see. You see dancing snowflakes and frolicking flurries. Something as harsh sounding as “blizzard“ isn‘t right. Only average in size, this egg is shaped more like a chicken‘s egg. A silly reference but a true one. Still, this egg‘s beauty is only shell deep. This egg is intensely selfish and it despises anybody that comes near. Why nobody seems to understand. Not does anybody see why such a cruel egg is kept in the gold mother‘s claws. It just is. This hatchling deems itself high above you and under no circumstances should such a lowly person like yourself touch it. It‘s a nasty egg. A truly, honestly nasty egg.
x. The Outrage Egg
You want twins? You have twins. The only difference is size and coloring. The Outrage Egg is exactly like the Overheat Egg in shape and color design. The only difference is the coloring. Sitting sort of misplaced next to the Overheat Egg, much like the larger sibling it is. With its burning flame of decoration, it just seems to be a malformed version. The oval-shaped egg still has one thing and that’s its size which rivals the Scratch Egg though still obviously smaller. It is not flame colored this time. This one has the oddest coloring one has ever seen. At the top is a near-black blue, a pit for all darkness. The second is a pale gray that winds around it, a splash of sorrow for all to see. Then this is followed by a pale sky blue, a loving, caring sky blue that is like a child’s heart. Then the last is a violently bright green that shows it is still a dangerous foe. A venomous color that gathers all the truth into one faded band. Though no obvious hatred for any egg, it still has an air of dislike for some things. It’s as if it is easily angered and when angered, it looks away, ashamed of you for angering it. Unlike its sibling though, it has an understanding. It gives you a chance, even if a small one. It still has a temper to it but it isn’t as fierce about it. Plus this hatchling is obviously intelligent and just as curious, not as quick to hide it. This hatchling is easy to misunderstand and so it needs an understanding heart to help it truly reveal its best.
