Finchnose I am not distracta- oh look a butterfly! Finchnose padded along, he was now a warrior of Riverclan. He was able to leave the clan camp without his mentor hanging over him. His long bushy tail stood straight up in the air the breeze blowing the long fur around like a banner in the wind. Today was a wonderful day for hunting some of the fat stupid ducks that waddled around making loud quacking noises. His body pressed to the ground and he prepared to charge. Then he saw it, buzzing yellow and black... and buzzing. He let out a funny sounding screech and ran headlong away from the bee. "Ahhh... get it away from meeeeee!" He screamed, running headlong into Shadowclan territory and up a tree, covering his eyes with is paws and trembling like a terrified kit.

Lightheart was out on a solo hunting patrol. Hunting patrol. Riiiight. Sure. Not goofing off in any way shape or form, just doing a regular hunting patrol. ...Riiight. At any rate, he eventually made his way alongside the RiverClan border, doing... well, whatever it was that he was doing. As he trotted along, he glanced from side to side, observing the various insects, looking for one particular little creature.
"Hrm... Hrrm.... Where... Hey!" he said, darting towards the fat, round little creature that was buzzing his way from the RiverClan side. "A honey bee! Didn't think I'd find one all the way out here so late in the year. Now, where's your nest, little guy?" he mumbled, glancing up at the trees. A bird's nest, nope, A cat stuck in a tree, nope, some pinecones, no-wait just one minute...
Lightheart did a double-take, his eyes darting up at the figure in their ShadowClan pine tree that smelt distinctly like RiverClan. "Either you're a cat... or you're the second biggest squirrel I've ever seen!" Lightheart called up to the cat, feeling incredibly amused. "What's your name, Squirreltail?" While he spoke, the little bumblebee from before alighted gently on his shoulder, sending tickly feelings through his fur, and making him chuckle all the more.

Finchnose peered down out of the tree. It was a Shadowclan cat. "I-is the be gone?" He asked, shaking a little. He couldn't help his phobia. It was just that every time he saw a bee he remembered almost dying. He paused and saw that the bee was indeed gone. Carefully he came down out of the tree.
"I'm Finchnose" he said. twitching a little. His golden eyes fixed on the other tom. "Oh dear Starclan." His eyes fixed on the tom's shoulder. Within a few seconds he was back, further up the tree. "G-get it away from me..." he mewed, looking down. "Please... I don't like bees. I really don't. They sting."

"What? You're afraid of a bee?" asked Lightheart incredulously, glancing at the yellow insect on his shoulder. "Well, then you've got to be the unluckiest cat in the world, to run into the one bee buzzing around in leaf-bare. What's wrong with bees, anyway? They won't sting ya, unless you bug them, and you'd have to be pretty stupid to do that." While he spoke, the bee flew off of his shoulder, having found a distinct lack of pollen on his fur.
"Are you all this afraid of bees, then? Have I discovered the secret weakness of RiverClan?" asked Lightheart teasingly. Then, whiskers twitching, and eyes gleaming devilishly, he pointed to a spot right behind Finchnose and said: "Oh! There's the bee's nest I was looking for!"

Finchnose let out a scream and leapt out of the tree. Then looked back up and flattened his ears. "That wasn't funny. You would be scared too if you got stung in your mouth." he groused, lashing his tail back and forth. He paused. "I-I should get off your territory." He mewed, backing up. "I'm really really sorry." He grinned a little and kept on backing up until he hit Riverclan land.
The young warrior looked at him. "Why didn't you try to claw my ears off for being on your clans land?" He asked, having finally calmed down.

"Why didn't you try to claw my ears off for being on your clan's land?" asked the RiverClan warrior, Finchnose or whatever his name was. "Because I didn't want to have to clean the blood and fur off of my claws, Sillyhead," said Lightheart with a good-natured grin. "What, did you think that all of us ShadowClan cats are mean and snarky? Well, you're wrong. Only most of us are."
This cat looked a good couple of moons younger than Lightheart was, with still a bit of a ways to go in terms of growth, and probably naive. After all, most cats would've run across the border and straight back to camp without a second thought, not stick around to chat with a cat from an enemy clan.
But something made Lightheart think that this tom was different from most cats. After all, most cats didn't get stung by bees... in the mouth... As this thought ran through Lightheart's mind, he started to snicker. Then, his snickers increased into full on laughter as he realized how that must have happened. "Please don't tell me-" he gasped, now rolling on the ground. "that- that you honestly tried to eat a bee!"

Finchnose I am not distracta- oh look a butterfly! "I-I was just starting my apprenticeship." he said in his defence. "I didn't know!" He added. "And I didn't try to eat it, I don't eat bugs. I licked it." he pointed out, as if that were something completly different. He flicked his tail a little, then looked away. "My mentor didn't even try to stop me." It was true too, his mentor was a big fan of letting experinece be a teacher. "I guess she thought I would learn better from..." He looked away then blushed a little, the tips of his ears going pink. "I heard some of the warriors say that there's a tom in Shadowclan who thinks he's a she-cat. is that true?" he paused a little, then remembered something else he'd heard. "What are two-legs like? Do they really hang things in trees that make birds come around them? Do you hunt those birds? Do they really throw water at you for yowling?"

"Heehee, you tried to lick a bee!" said Lightheart, still rolling around gleefully. "What'd it taste like? Was it sweet? Or did it have a bit of a sting? Hahahaha! Oh, man..." He managed to recover himself around the time of Finchnose's explanation, although he'd probably have been wiping tears out of his eyes if he'd been a twoleg.
Unfortunately, that did mean that he came face to face with a barrage of questions from the RiverClan warrior. "Ey yeah, we've got a few of those. In fact, er..." But the tom had already moved past the first question, and added about four more to the list. "Hey, wait wait wait!" exclaimed Lightheart. "Why should I be telling you all of our top-secret ShadowClan knowledge, Questionmouth? I've got big, important experienced warrior tasks to do, y'know?" But his whiskers twitched while he said that.

Finchnose I am not distracta- oh look a butterfly! "It tasted like pollen." He said, his face showing that he was perfectly serious. He paused and blinked a few times. "I-if you have important warrior things to do. Then I should go." He turned around to pad off. "Oh, Starclan bless Lightheart." he added, before bounding off to do some hunting. For some reason, the inquisitive tom felt as if he had made a friend. He hoped that he was guessing right and that this wasn't just a Shadowclan trick. Shaking thoughts from his mind he headed over to hunt some of the last ducks that waddled about, putting on just a little more fat before taking the long flight south. They were slow and easy to catch, and fed quite a few cats.

"Hey, I was kidding-" said Lightheart, but it was a bit too late. Finchnose had already bounced off into his own territory. "Huh. Well, now what'm I supposed to do? Work? Man..." He turned back into his forest, brushing pine needles away with his pads. Heh. Still, that Finchnose turned out to be a funny cat. "Pfft... Eating a bee. I don't think I've ever done that before. Har. Priceless." He certainly wouldn't mind seeing that cat again. Besides, on top of everything else, he was cute, in his weird little way.
