Snowpaw Life is the flower for which love is the honey Snowpaw led his brother though Shadowclan territory. They were supposed to be in camp like good apprentices. However being a good apprentice was boring. Anyway, all those pesky rules applied to the other apprentices. They didn't, in the least bit, apply to Snowpaw. And since his brother was with him, they didn't apply to his brother either. They walked until they came to the broken half bridge "Hey check it out!" Snowpaw mewed, pointing to the halfbridge. "Come on, last one there is a piece of crowfood." He giggled and ran ahead, what he didn't know was that the halfbridge was slippery. As he ran he felt himself loosing grip and soon sailing though the air into the cold lake. He let out a high pitched scream and swam back to the shore. "C-c-c-cold..."

Rookpaw followed behind his brother, somewhat silent the entire time. Then again, that was what the young tom did best. Keeping emotions and words bottled up inside was the one thing he had always been good at, and why go back on something you were excellent at? Honestly Rookpaw didn't even know where they were going, and he really didn't care. It gave him time to spend with his brother, and away from camp. So really it was a nice luxury for him. What he didn't think is if they would get in trouble or not, he was too preoccupied with following after Snowpaw.
When they finally reached a landmark, and Snowpaw pointed out the half-bride, the black tom blinked. His brother seemed so excited over it, why? He let himself actually enjoy himself this time and raced after Snowpaw. He didn't want to be a piece of crowfood, after all. And then the worst possible thing happened. Snowpaw was going too fast and slipped. Rookpaw's mind went into overdrive. How could this happen to him? What could he do to help? When Snowpaw had made it back to shore, Rookpaw had run as quickly as his paws would allow. Was Snowpaw alright?
"Please don't ever do that again. I can't lose you, I really can't." he said softly, shuddering at the thought of what really could have happened. Snowpaw had been lucky, but what if he had not been?
"Here, lemme help you lick your fur and warm you up." Rookpaw added, trying not to get his paws wet as he inched closer to Snowpaw. [/justify]

Snowpaw Life is the flower for which love is the honey "Y-you know that w-would have been funner if it were Green-leaf." he protested. "A-a lot (two words, not one) funner." He sat still, shivering and letting his brother lick him dry. "Thanks." he mewed then stood up and shook his fur, spraying icy water everywhere. "The half-bridge was slippery." he mewed. "I guess I didn't expect that. But I'll be fine." He said. "After all, a little dip like that can't keep me down. Come on let's go!" He stood up and began walking off. Then he stopped and sneezed loudly. "Y-you coming Rookpaw? It will be fun. I know where we can go! We can go to the border!" He grinned. 'You know, see what Thunderclan looks like. I mean my mentor NEVER takes me on border patrols. What about you?" He flicked both his ears back. "Your mentor seems a lot nicer than mine. Mine's a big meanie tail!"

"I bet it would be funner in greenleaf. You wouldn't be quite so cold and we probably wouldn't be here, we would be out hunting." Rookpaw smiled at the thought of seeing his brother trying the same thing in greenleaf, it really was a funny thought, even for the usual serious tom.
He was glad that Snowpaw was still enough to allow him to help him dry off, somewhat but gave his brother a glare when the icy water that the white apprentice had shaken off sprayed on him. "Give me a warning before you do that again." He said, twitching as he realized just how cold the water had been. How had his brother been able to stand it for even that long in the water? Rookpaw would have probably just sat there and drowned. He was glad it didn't hurt his brother or his sense of adventure. Rookpaw needed to be distracted from everything right now, and his brother sure was doing a great job of it.
When Snowpaw began to walk off, Rookpaw found his paws were following. The black tom was so used to following after his brother, he hardly knew when his paws were moving when he was around Snowpaw. Wait...they were going to the border? Wasn't that dangerous? "I-I don't know." he managed to say, a bit taken aback. This was a bold move. He listened to Snowpaw chatter about mentors, while his own mind was whirling with thoughts. He just needed to stop thinking and act.
"Sure, I'll come, but if we get in trouble it's your fault. I'm just there to make sure you don't get hurt. Although, jumping in the lake just might qualify as the most mousebrained thing you have done. What next?" Rookpaw knew this was wrong, on all levels, but he was with Snowpaw. Surely that was safe?

Snowpaw Life is the flower for which love is the honey Snowpaw stopped in his dripping tracks and turned around to look at Rookpaw. "I didn't jump in the lake." he mewed."The halfbridge was slippery and I went flying and landed in the lake." He mewed. "Anyway, yeah we would likely be out hunting." he stopped shook himself and sneezed loudly. "Where did that come from?" he asked, his nose sounding a little stuffed up. He sneezed again loudly. 'May.. maybe we should go back to camp." He mumbled. "I fink I feel a toad coming on." He mumbled stumbling back towards camp.

Rookpaw thought about retorting to Snowpaw's comment about falling in the lake. It sure looked like he intended to fall in, but Rookpaw knew better, his brother was just a bit on the clumsy side, or the mousebrained side. He was very worried about his brother sneezing, and was afraid he would get sick. No, Snowpaw couldn't get sick. If he got sick and died, who would he have left in his family that he trusted fully? He loved his mother, yes, but it wasn't the same. And forget his father. He wasn't even a thought in his life.
The tom had been excited to go explore, but if his brother wanted to go back to camp, that was fine with him. He didn't want Snowpaw to hurt himself anymore. He needed to get checked out by the medicine cat and make sure it wasn't anything serious. The black tom followed after his brother and sighed. "You will be going in the medicine cat den first thing, no protests. And I will follow you in there to make sure you get there. I don't want it to be any more serious than it can be if you let it go on much longer."Rookpaw was firm in his words. He wasn't about to let Snowpaw get away with this.
"And we don't have to tell exactly what happened, we can just say we were about to go out of camp and you suddenly felt sick. We just gotta get your fur completely dry." He may normally be a quiet tom, but that didn't mean he didn't have ideas, and know how to lie.
