[/i]. Of course, part of her wished her siblings or her friend, Eaglekit, would stop by but- it was fine. She could make do. Besides, she wasn't completely alone. She did have one buddy. Giggling like a maniac, the clumsy little kit jumped back, rolling back onto her haunches as she eyed the lump moving about in the moss. She had found a beetle. Tiny, the little black shelled bug skirted back and forth amongst the moss, occasionally it'd run towards Briarkit and then, then the tiny kit would shriek with glee and would stumble back. Of course, in Briarkit's mind, it wasn't a beetle, instead it was a huge rabbit and Briarkit wasn't exactly Briarkit. Nope, instead she was Briarstar, the awesome leader of all the clans! And- well- Okay, Briarkit didn't exactly know why Briarstar was running away from a rabbit but, it was fun! Squealing as the beetle flew towards her, the clumsy kit took off towards the other end of the nursery, uprooting several nests in the process. She ended up sliding into her own nest and, in a fit of giggles, watched the beetle land on her nose. Fun fun fun![/ul]

Against all his protests (who am I kidding, Eaglekit's worst protests were "okay, mommy"), Silverflower had managed to drag Eaglekit from the nursery to pay a visit to the elders. Not that he didn't like the elders or anything - no, they were great cats! To serve in your Clan with the luck to stay alive for so many moons...yes, Eaglekit definitely respected them - but what he'd really wanted to do was stay in the nursery and think, or perhaps strike up a nice conversation with his denmate and best friend, Briarkit. Maybe he'd even let her talk him into playing tag or hide-n-seek or perhaps even mossball. But who knew, since Silverflower had dragged him off to the elders along with the majority of the nursery. How Briarkit had gotten out of it, Eaglekit had no idea.
After politely sitting through a few stories and good-natured arguments, Eaglekit rose to his paws and asked permission to return to the nursery, to which the elders had huffed and granted him his request and sent him on his merry way prancing - well, not really prancing (Eaglekit did not prance) but maybe he walked quickly (maybe) - back to the nursery where he was sure Briarkit was still playing or doing whatever it was Briarkit found to occupy her time.
Just outside of the nursery, Eaglekit was a bit surprised to hear a massive crash/sliding sound coming from the nursery, followed immediately by a fit of giggling. Confused, the brown tabby cocked his head to the side and pushed his way into the den. Several of the nests lay in tatters, littering the ground with moss and bracken. In her own nest on the far side of the nursery, laying in a heap of moss and fur, was Briarkit, giggling hysterically. Eaglekit blinked once, taking in the scene. What had caused Briarkit to wreck all the nests? Sighing heavily, he padded over to his best friend and poked her with his nose. "What happened here?" he asked in his serious, quiet way, so unlike a kit would be expected to act.

[/i]! Eaglekit, while being one moon older then Briarkit, was Briarkit's absolute best friend. She was best friends with her siblings, too but, Eaglekit was her best best friend. She didn't know how exactly she had come to be such good friends with the older tom but, oh well, he was her best friend and that was all that mattered. ”Eaglekit!” Giving a happy squeak, the she-cat squeled as he nosed her gently. Giving a sheepish giggle, the tiny kit flailed, disrupting the beetle on her nose, and rolled forward. Leaping onto her paws, she inched over towards Eaglekit, motioning to the beetle flying around with her tail. ”Look, Eaglekit!” She smiled, lowering herself to the ground. ”It's a rabbit, see?” She gave a shy smile, nodding to herself. ”A spy for ShadowClan and, since I'm Briarstar, I have to chase it out!” She flopped down onto her haunches, watching the beetle with a smile. ”Will you be my deputy, Eaglekit? Pleease! It's reaaally fun!” She leaned forward, batting at her friend's tail playfully. ”Oh, pleeaase? We can clean up later- Oh!” She squeaked, watching as the beetle started to fly again. ”It's moving!”And she was off.[/ul]
