Mudpaw Logic is not the end of wisdom, but the Beginning Mudpaw sat down, his tail flicking a little. Today his training would begin. He sighed and looked up at the sky. Then he shivered a little. He was glad that his kittenhood was over with, it had been pleasent, however it had also been dull. Now he had to survive leaf bare, and he felt he had a better chance of that as an apprentice. At least he could contribute to the clan now, and make sure other kits survived this harsh time. In his heart he wondered what would have happened if he had not been lost that day. He would not have made friends with Swallowpaw. And he would have been taken to the cutter. The small tom gulped a little at the idea of loosing his tomhood. Unconciously he curled his tail around his backside even closer. How could two-legs even think of cutting those off. It was cruel and unusal punsiment. He was glad to be a tom, that was for sure. He smiled, starclan had guided him here. He knew they had directed each of his pawsteps until he was the cat he was today. He also knew they would continue guiding him until the day that he was laid to rest in the cool earth. He hoped that day would come many, many moons away. He wanted to live a full life first.

Ivyclaw;; ThunderClan Warrior
It was today. It was today, the day he recieved another apprentice. He felt thrilled to mentor another young cat again. Even if this cat was too formal for him to comprehend. Oh well, at least he would try his hardest. If his daughter found a way past his mew, then so would Ivyclaw.
He was ahead of Mudpaw, and the forest scents wrathed around him. He breathed in deeply, giving a long sigh of happiness. "Mudpaw, what can you scent?" he asked in a calm mew, though it was a rough as tree bark. He took in the scents, and sorted each one out. Mouse, stale Twoleg, and very faint badger. He wasn't going to get mauled today, thank StarClan.

Mudpaw Logic is not the end of wisdom, but the Beginning Mudpaw blinked three times, then flicked his tail. "There has been a mouse past this way during this sun." he mewed. "And Two-legs, though it seems stale." He sniffed a little harder. "I cannot identify the third scent, however it causes me unrest." He mewed simply. "I do not believe it is a scent of a friendly animal, nor a prey creature. Therefore it is something that I should fear and avoid in the future." He flicked his ear back and gave a half smirk. "However the scent is very faint, so there is nothing to worry about. The creature that scent originated from has passed by long ago and has left. However if it is still in the territory, it should be something to be wary of."

Ivyclaw;; ThunderClan Warrior
The wispy gray tom was very impressed, for the young apprentice detected each scent individually, unlike him. Ivyclaw was terrible at tracking, for he mixed up a mouse scent with squirrel. He had defended with, "They're both rodents!" As he remembered that day, he turned back to the brown apprentice, his ears pricked. He said there was a scent he couldn't reconize, and he felt the need to pipe up.
"That scent is badger. They are large, lumbering animals. Although, with a single swipe of their claws, they can kill an adult cat." He shuddered with the story of Sootfur from generations ago, and of course, the badger attack in his territory. "Let's see if we could catch that mouse. You can try first. I'm sure you know the form from Swallowpaw?" he suggested, remembering his daughter showed her stalking, and showed off in camp a lot.

Mudpaw Logic is not the end of wisdom, but the Beginning Mudpaw allowed himself a single smile. "I know the smell of mouse from the fresh kill pile." he said. "And two-legs from my early life as a kittypet. It is not a scent I would forget." He paused. "Ah yes badger, they attacked the camp only a few moons ago. I had been given my kit name the morning before." He smiled. "Yes, Swallowpaw often shows off her skills." he mewed. "I have done my best to copy her and have become skilled enough to sneak up on both my mother and my aunt." He dropped into a crouch and slunk forward. However he was not used to the underbrush. There was a slight rustling and the mouse stopped and looked up. Mudpaw sprung forward and managed to catch its tail. Much to his surprise the mouse spun around and sunk its sharp teeth into his nose. Mudpaw let out a yowl and dug his claws into the creature.
