Lizardheart If you are afraid to die, you have already died Lizardheart padded towards the Leaders den. Her thick winter coat had grown in. The cold wind didn't seem as biting. "Ummm, Fernstar?" She mewed, flicking her tail. "I've been watching the kits and I've been thinking. I would like to mentor Heathkit. I just wanted to let you know, in case you were wondering who to put him with." Her ears flicked back. She paused, hoping the older leader would listen to her. She came here on the premise she wanted to talk about an apprentice. In truth, she was worried about things in general. About not being really clanborn. Sure she was born in the clan, but she didn't have a drop of clan, or wild blood in her.

Fernstar usually liked to sleep outside. When the weather was nice and warm and the sky was clear offering a view of Silverpelt, the WindClan leader enjoyed being outside near her Clan mates. Being a leader of a Clan after a little while led you to feel a bit isolated, you had the responsibility of a leader and others looked up to you, and suddenly it seemed you didn't have friends but instead cats following your orders, you didn't have friends looking for advice but instead cats looking for someone to tell them what to do. Fernstar loved her Clan mates but she got lonely, so she liked to sleep outside with the rest of the Clan. During leafbare, however, nights were frigid and frosty, so she normally stayed in her den during nighttime, which was usually at least a little warmer than the outside.
Sleeping was what she was doing when she heard someone entering her den. The voice roused her into wakefulness, and she blinked a few times and let a yawn escape from her before starting to wake up fully. When she looked over to see who it was she recognized Lizardheart, a young warrior. Processing what she said, Fernstar remarked to herself that she had done a quick job of stating right away what she wanted to say. Well, she supposed Lizardheart was the type to always get to the point.
"Heathkit?" She repeated, thinking of the young tom who she remembered was getting close to apprentice age. She had put a bit of thought into his mentor but hadn't yet talked to any of the potential mentors about it. "Thank you, I'll consider you when I start thinking of a mentor for him." She stretched her front legs slightly, claws digging into the moss as she pondered the possibility of Lizardheart being a good mentor. "Is there anything else you need?"

Lizardheart If you are afraid to die, you have already died Lizardheart looked away and sighed. "I... I don't like talking about it." She said, trying to appear strong as possible. The only problem was that some of the warriors had lately been whipering and calling Lizardheart a "kittypet" She turned to the Leader and sighed a little. There was no point in being round about with Fernstar. "I'm worried about my blood." she mumbled.

This was different. The sigh and saddened tone coming from Lizardheart took Fernstar by surprise, for she always knew the warrior to be composed and proud. Until Lizardheart spoke again she wondered what was making the other she-cat so awkward and reluctant. Then she said something about 'blood' and Fernstar took a moment to realize what she was talking about. "What do you mean, 'blood'?" She asked, wanting clarification and for Lizardheart to be a bit more confident explaining what was bothering her. It surely couldn't be that bad.

Lizardheart If you are afraid to die, you have already died Lizardheart sighed. "I've been having doubts about myself." She explained. "That I can never be a true warrior. The other cats talk about how kittypets drag the clan down. Then well." She sighed. "I was born in the clan yes, but my father was a kittypet. My mother was too before she joined the clan. I don't even look like a cat of the forest, of any clan." She flicked her tail. "I've kittypet blood and not a drop of clan blood. I feel as if the other cats think that I am weak. It didn't used to bother me, but as of late... well." she sighed and hung her head. "It has been bothering me, a lot."

((You do know that nowadays in the Clans, the warrior code isn't really as important as it should be? Not that it's bad she's doubting herself, but I doubt too many cats would be giving her trouble for non-pure blood. ;3))
So she was worried about her non-WindClan blood. Fernstar honestly found that a bit surprising, considering Lizardheart had been born as a Clan cat. It was true some cats had strong thoughts about pure-blooded Clans and that meant a bit of unpleasant jibes for most of the Clan. Lizardheart had been born and raised in Clan life, and that made her more WindClan in her opinion than those who joined the Clan after being born, even if her parents weren't Clan cats.
"Don't doubt yourself, you're just as much of a WindClan cat as those with Clan blood. You've earned your warrior name and proven your loyalty so there's nothing to be worried about." she tried her best to make her warrior feel better, though she wasn't sure how well it would work. But maybe all she would need is a little encouragement, who knew.

Lizardheart If you are afraid to die, you have already died (short, I know but it's a finishing post) "Th-thank you." she said, but padded off with drooping shoulders. Her tail flicked a little and she sighed. She had patrol to run with Redfang. Picking up her pace she ran towards where he was waiting.
