.: Description:
Sandfur prides herself on her looks. She may be a bit vain, but it certainly pays off. She spends quite a while each evening clearing any possible knots or tangle and polish any dirt off completely. Well, who can blame her? Her sandy pelt is attractive, with various earthy tones and barely noticeable striping on her legs. Wide set in the gently angled planes of her face, are two large, amber/green eyes that give am intense, intelligent gaze. Her body is a little on the large side, taking after her father's strong build. Thickly muscled and heavy on her feet, Sandfur is built more for battle than stealth or hunting.
Sandfur is usually calm and quiet around camp.. But when she is set off, every cat in a 10 mile radius can hear her yowling at the source of her temper tantrum. Sandfur does hold herself high, her aura making sure everyone knows who she is and that she's someone you ought to get to know. With long legs, thick muscles, and a quick mind, Sandfur is quite the ThunderClan cat.
.: Personality:
Sandfur in a nutshell is: Self-conscious. Good natured. Quick-minded. Flirtatious. Bold. Quick-Tempered. Strong-willed. And passionate. Now, to expand upon those adjectives, Sandfur is not shy in any way, shape, or form. If she has an opinion on something, she'll most likely make it known. Not to say she's chatty, on the contrary, Sandfur speaks freely to her fellow warriors only when in the happiest of moods. Other than that, she doesn't find any reason to pollute the quiet with the sound of pointless banter. She does have a soft spot for kits, spending a little bit of time in the nursery most days. She knows every kit's name, who they belong to, and what they want to be when they grow up. Sandfur is blessed with a sharp mind, and polished problem solving skills. Even though her size and build may impair her when hunting, she can figure how to catch the prey despite her disadvantages. Though she relies on this skill for more than its worth...
Sandfur has a way with toms, and when she is in a flirtatious mood, she might have two or three warriors fighting for her attention. When Sandfur wants something, theres no stopping her. She is quite passionate about every little thing she sets her mind to, whether it be catch the biggest thrush, or become deputy someday. She certainly has potential, but she has trouble seeing that in herself. Her largest downfall is her secret lack of self-confidence. She may be loud-mouthed and have iron opinions, but deep inside she has trouble seeing anything good about herself. It impairs her when trying for things, she wanted deputy fiercely, but she didn't get it. And because she didn't believe she was good enough, no one could.
.: History:
Sandkit was the only kit born to two very different cats. There is Willowburp, the kind and gentle ThunderClan she-cat, and Bigfart, the rugged and handsome ShadowClan tom. They had been courting for only half a moon when Willowburp discovered she was pregnant. Bigfart did not take the news well. Running off into the woods never to speak to Willowburp again isn't quite medal worthy. Willowburp didn't mention anything of Sandkit's father to her clanmates, or even Sandkit herself. Sandkit always had a slight hankering to find out who made up half of her blood, but never more than the occasional question to Willowburp, which was always shot down.
Just one moon after Sandkit's birth, Deerstar perished from a deadly case of Blackcough. She didn't understand why her mother was so solemn for a while, as were all the other queens and older kits. All she knew is that there was a new leader, and poor Deerstar had gone away.
Sandpaw had only just been apprenticed to an older tom named Fogpelt, when war broke out between ShadowClan and ThunderClan. Many lives were lost in the senseless battles, including her fathers. Her mentor was badly injured, blinded in both eyes. He was made an elder, and Sandpaw was reassigned to Heatherfoot, a nervous and quite neurotic young she-cat. Sandpaw's mother was quite unhappy, who could blame her? Heatherfoot was only 10 moons older than Sandpaw at the time. Sandpaw did find it hard to switch from the steady, informative routines of Fogpelt, to the fast paced, repetitive teachings of the young she-cat.
Sandpaw learned quickly from the paranoid and pointless lessons from Heatherfoot, but she did not learn well. She had a vague understanding of the warrior code, but not without many twists and biased angles cemented by her rookie mentor. She was 10 moons old when Greencough spread it's dark tendrils through ThunderClan, chasing off Dovestar and taking Heatherfoot's life as well. Now Sandpaw was in need of a mentor for a third time, and aging Willowburp was growing impatient. She urged newly appointed Lionstar to just make her a warrior, but alas, 10 moons is quite young.
Sandpaw was 13 moons old when she graduated apprenticeship. She was named Sandfur, she expected something more like Sandheart or Sandfeather, but fur was... nice. Her mother was made an elder after suffering a broken leg by fox attack. It struck a hatred of foxes into Sandfur's heart, and now whenever she even hears the name she spits and fluffs up. Nothing else extraordinary happened to Sandfur in following moons, a border skirmish here and there, (which is, by the way, the tip or her left was severed) a couple pointless romances..
Seven moons ago Sandfur took a liking to Whitefrost. His smarts, his bravery, and not to mention his looks! Sandfur was enjoying their occasional conversation and flirting here and there, when Hawkclaw came into the picture. Whitefrost's brother, a kindhearted cat, someone Sandfur could really see herself settling down and having kits with someday in the future.. But Whitefrost just had so much going for him! After three moons, Whitefrost was made Whitestar, and Sandfur about fainted she was so shocked and ecstatic. Hawkclaw on the other hand.. seemed upset at his brother's sudden rank shift. Sandfur still found time to be with both of her interests, but the aspect of ever being with a Clan Leader just made her fur bristle with excitement. This has continued.. and soon the she-cat will need to make a decision. But who will it be?
