Description:
Mapletail looks much like his sister, Oakleaf, just slightly larger. He isn't a big tom, yet he isn't small like his baby sister. He is average sized, with his muscles aiding his stature to look a bit larger, which is why he appears larger than Oakleaf. His pelt is a light sandy brown with darker brown tabby stripes all over his body. The only other color on this tom is white, which can be found on his muzzle. The only difference separating him from Oakleaf, other than size, is his short fur. While both his sisters have long fur (Oakleaf having very long fur), he is singled out with his short fur. His nose is a dark pink color, with an outer lining of a darkish gray. Mapletail has yellow-green eyes, which are identical to Cedarkit’s. There really isn't anything distinctive about Mapletail. He's just a sandy brown cat with tabby stripes. How much plainer can you get?
Personality:
Mapletail is what most call a goody-goody. He does exactly what he is told and doesn't go against what those who hold authority in the clan say. He has always been a good boy, never one for disobeying his parents or his mentor. He may have been the youngest out of his litter, but he has always been the most responsible. He has a level head and it takes a good bit to make him mad or even just to irritate him. His mother was spoiled with Oakleaf and he, both of them were so calm and quiet and stayed nearby. Now she has Cedarkit to deal with who is always in trouble.
He was easy to teach as an apprentice, always listening to his mentor and practicing whenever he could. It didn't take long for him to be a warrior, and he likes to think following the rules helped him greatly. Rules are made to be followed, not to be broken, this is something Mapletail wishes his little sister would learn. She is too adventurous for her own good, and he doesn't want to have another sibling die, not if he can help it.
The tom is always willing to go on patrol, and when he isn't on patrol he is always trying to do something productive with his time. Mapletail isn't one to just sit around and feel like he is doing absolutely nothing. No, he has to be doing something to help his clan. The only time Mapletail will relax is when he has been on patrol for the day, and his sister is safe in the nursery, sound asleep. That's the only time Cedarkit is harmless, when she is asleep, and knowing that lifts a huge burden off Mapletail's shoulders.
He is also a pacifist, not really one that enjoys a fight. That seemed to skip both of the kits in his litter and went straight into Cedarkit. He prefers hunting over fighting any day, and is scared of hurting someone if he does fight.
History:
Mapletail was born into ThunderClan thirteen moons ago to two cats he is proud to call his parents. Born the second of two kits in his parents first litter, Maplekit was bigger than his sister, Oak-kit. The two were close and were glad to have parents that were so attentive. They never had to worry about much in life while in the nursery, and their kit life passed quickly, much to their parents disappointment. Sedgeflower and Branchtail were happy their kits were growing and close to apprenticeship, but their mother would miss them falling asleep at her side.
Maplekit and Oak-kit had quite similar personalities. Neither one of them were too into play-fighting, like most of the other kits in the nursery, they liked other games. Throwing a mossball around was their favorite, and the two kits would play for hours. They both stuck by their mother's side in the nursery, not wanting to explore the world outside unless either she, or their father was there with them.
Soon enough the two were apprenticed, Oakpaw received Bluerobin as a mentor, while Maplepaw received the food loving Redrobin. Their apprentice life went by like most, training with more training. When they reached nine moons, their parents gave birth to a new litter of kits. Once again a tom and a she-cat were born to Sedgeflower and Branchtail. The tom in the litter, Birchkit, was stillborn, leaving little Cedarkit alone. Maplepaw felt sorry that his little sister didn't have a littermate, but it seemed the kit thrived. Cedarkit followed him once she was old enough to walk around, and he would sometimes feel her sleeping in between Oakpaw and himself in the apprentices den. It seemed Cedarkit would be fine without a littermate, and Maplepaw would make sure of that. She had him and Oakpaw to look after her.
By the time his sister was two moons, Cedarkit had become best friends with another apprentice in the den, Duskpaw. Maplepaw didn't know how he felt about that. His little sister got in enough trouble, sneaking out of camp, did she really need a friend that encouraged that behavior? The only upside he saw in this was that Cedarkit no longer was alone on her expeditions. She had someone who at least had some warrior training.
At eleven and a half moons he received his warrior name with his littermate. Oakleaf had pretty much gone her separate ways now, chasing after toms. He was content with doing whatever he was asked. And to this day he is the same, going on patrols, watching his little sister grow, and doing whatever is asked of him.
