Description:
Dappleflower is a pretty she-cat. Or was pretty in her youth, she hasn't lost all of her looks either. She's a torbie cat with with a white belly and pale yellow green eyes. She's still got some meat on her bones, due to a very healthy appetite. She doesn't bear many scars on her body, due to the fact that she only spent her early life doing anything but being a queen.
She has a broad head and ears that are slightly tipped in fur. Her whiskers are long. the first thing noticeable about her is her face is the tabby markings, however intermingled with those are the black and orange of a tortie. These mixed markings cover her whole body. She has a long, well balanced tail, covered in thick tabby markings. Her chest and paws are white, as is her underbelly. However none of her belly white is visible from the side.
She's a well built cat, and is a bit of an imposing presence. Her fur is thick and plush, and very soft.
Personality:
Dappleflower, as evidenced by her name, is very motherly. She's a kind she-cat who puts others before herself. This served her well in all her years as a queen. Now she's the sort of cat who spends her time telling stories to the kits. In general she loves kits and spends quite a bit of time around them. She's a gentle soul, and wouldn't think of raising claw against another cat in anger.
She is quite smart, in the way that mothers are, and is able to tell when kits are planning mischief. She's learned to read kits quite well, and understand them. She may be slow to anger, however she's very good at keeping unruly kits in line. A simple glare often works. Also letting kits know that one is disappointed in them was always far more effective in nature.
History:
Like many elders, Dappleflower's history is lost in the mists of time. She was born a long time ago. Back in the early days of Lightstar being leader. It was during this time she became a warrior. It was also during those two years that a loner named Battler joined the clans. He offered his claws and fangs to the clan, and proved himself loyal. He was taken into the clan and given the name of Battleclaw, it was his request to keep part of his name.
Dappleflower was just a newly made warrior, and she and Battleclaw became close friends. Over the moons they became more than friends, and became mates. Dappleflower soon moved to the nursery and bore a litter of kits. Though she had a few stints in the warrior's den, she spent most of her life in the nursery. Each litter was one of Battleclaw's. During her mid years of being a queen, she remembers when kits were stolen. Supposedly, though she was always sure that they got out of the nursery and were taken by a badger. And that the mother had just made up the story to hide her own grief.
She heard that cats were being killed right and left in the war and prayed that her mate would come home alive. He did. Though he was now missing an ear and covered in scars.
The moons flew by and Hollystar died, killed in a fire that devastated the camp. Then came the dark times, a time when leader after leader fell, or fled. During this time both Battleclaw and Dappleflower retired.
Then four moons ago, tragedy struck. Though he was an elder, it didn't stop Battleclaw form mauling a badger to save his beloved mate. He was able to drive off the beast, however his heart would not allow such activity and soon after the fight he collapsed next to Dappleflower. Her closest friend was now gone. The old she-cat felt like her heart had shattered. She buried him, and spent several days sitting next to the grave. Eventually she got her wits about her, however she does return to the place where her mate is buried, every single day.
Now, as she approaches her death, her one request is that she be buried next to Battleclaw. So that they may sleep together forever.
