Whitestar nodded slowly, waiting for Mudkit to make his way up in front of his Clan. He smiled faintly at the youngster and began to speak the words which signified his transition from kit to apprentice. Another apprentice, another ceremony. ThunderClan would grow from strength to strength with the addition of young cats such as this.
"Today is a good day for ThunderClan. Today we celebrate a young cat's commencement of his training to become a warrior, so that he might serve and protect this Clan. Mudkit, you have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice." Whitestar turned to look at the gathered cats, raising his voice so all could hear, loud and clear. "From this day forward, until he has earned his warrior name, this apprentice will be known as Mudpaw!"
Now to call the new mentor forward... Whitestar's eyes fell upon the cat he was looking for, beckoning him forth. Ivyclaw, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You will be mentor to Mudpaw and guide him until he is ready to receive his warrior name. I know you will pass on your courage and strength to Mudpaw and teach him the skills he needs to become a warrior of ThunderClan." Whitestar stepped back to allow Ivyclaw to come forwards and touch noses with his new apprentice. The cat had not had a youngster to train for a while, but he was deserving of one. He would be good for Mudpaw.
With his part in the ceremony done, Whitestar dipped his head, letting the chants of Mudpaw's name float over him. Time was a funny thing. Things could happen in a blink of an eye; kits turned into apprentices and apprentices became warriors, all seemingly under his nose. And yet somehow, it still came as a surprise when it happened. How many more ceremonies such as this would he conduct? How many more cats would he see pass from excited kit to determined apprentice to wise warrior? Nobody knew, he supposed.
But I hope it's plenty more.

Swallowpaw;; ThunderClan apprentice The older she-cat's words melted in her heart. She never knew Battleclaw, for he died before Swallowpaw was even born. And with the one simple praise in mind, she nodded. "I know I will never be as good as Battleclaw," she meowed with a soft edge. "but I will try to be the best warrior I can be." she turned towards the newly named Mudpaw, suprised that it was her own father that was mentoring him.
She trotted over behind her father, ready to congratulate him. Her green eyes sparkled with amusement, wondering how the warrior would train the young apprentice. She reminded herself coldly, that she would be a warrior within two or three moons, and she couldn't help but await the day she can become a warrior.
Ivyclaw;; ThunderClan warrior
This truely was a wonderful suprise to the younger warrior. He couldn't help but remembering the day he met Duskpaw, and the day he left for RiverClan. He did overhear that he was dead, and grief swept over him. He would never lose another one of his apprentices. Never again would he do it.
He stepped forward a few mouse-lengths, then lowered his head to touch noses with the brown tom. He felt a surge of amusement flow through him as he felt his daughter's pelt brush against his flank. His ear flicked as he grinned, pleasure sweeping over his face.

Mudpaw Logic is the beginning of wisdom; not the end Mudpaw didn't grin at the sound of his new name being caterwauled by the clan. His tail flicked a little, the tip puffing out in amusement. However in his deep brown eyes pride glowed. He touched noses to Ivyclaw, blinking a little, then he sat down. "It will be, a pleasure, I suppose." His eyes were gentle. "I swear I will do my best for the clan." He added. "And I will never desert the clan, for turning my back on those who have been so good to me would be immoral and illogical."
